Arrow Refining Company Tank Car #116
Click on image to enlarge ARRX tank car #116 (ex-Kansas City Southern, # unknown), built in 1923, is an 8,000 gallon, 40-ton capacity, 1-dome oil tank car. Purchased from Reader Railroad, Reader, Arkansas. It is painted green with white markings. This car never belonged to the Arrow Petroleum Company. The paint scheme was chosen when the car was first brought to the Museum because of the gaudy, attractive paint scheme employed by this company. When a KCS tank car, it probably had a number in the 35xxx series and was painted black with white markings.
