The Railroad Museum is a unique setting for receptions with space available both indoors or outdoors. The Museum's depot, known as the "People's Gallery" can accommodate 400 plus people for a cocktail party or up to 300 people for a seated dinner reception. The Museum also offers the use of our "Garden of Steam". Our beautiful gazebo, located in the center of the garden, is an ideal place for memorable photographs of your special event. For smaller gatherings, vintage rail dining cars are available which accommodate up to 64 people for business gatherings, children's birthday parties or small gatherings. Saved from demolition by the Moody Foundation, this impressive Art Deco building was once the Union Passenger Depot. Now the waiting room is populated with life-size plaster models of "ghosts of travelers past" telling tales of their Victorian rail adventure when Galveston and its railroads were at the heart of Texas commerce. The historical "People's Gallery" features an elegant setting for you occasion, including a stately marble dance floor and area for musical entertainment. Our unique gift shop can be utilized to serve your cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
