THE NEWEST ATTRACTIONS ARE
A railroad world that will catch you and not let you go.

The primary purpose of the railroad collection in establishing the museum, as in most other fields, was primarily to document and promote modern railroad technology. Leading American railroad engineering companies, whose representatives were part of the respective “industry group,” donated many examples of new or tested components to the museum’s collection. Over time, the activities of the Railroad Department focused primarily on documenting the development of railroading in what is now America.

Cultural aspects and diverse nature – explore the United States by rail

There’s probably no more exciting way to discover the United States than by train. The Republic is considered a melting pot of diverse cultures and is home to some of the most spectacular national parks in the world, as well as legendary metropolitan areas.

This spectacular part of the North American continent almost requires slow-motion exploration on the rails. A rail journey through the United States takes you on a gold-digging trail from New York City to the Midwest and San Francisco.

East and West: Two Faces of the United States

The U.S. rail network allows you to travel by rail along the east and west coasts, as well as along the country’s northern and southern borders.

Most historic and adventurous is the transcontinental journey in a comfortable train compartment, an authentic and, at least today, more environmentally friendly predecessor to the widely known automobile journey. The journey begins, for example, in cosmopolitan style in New York City, the city that never sleeps.

Still saying goodbye to the Statue of Liberty, you leave Manhattan, enjoy a multi-course meal in the dining car and make your way quietly to the major metropolitan areas of the East, from Washington to Chicago.

The West Coast has a contrasting program – it’s no coincidence that the two parts of the country are considered fundamentally different. In sunny Los Angeles, relax on a Pacific beach or take a trip to Hollywood.
