UTLX tank car #31589 was built in 1918 by the Union Tank Car Company. It is a 10,210-gallon capacity, 1 dome, tank car used for carrying oil, one of 7,000 in its class produced by the company. Note that both trucks have UTL cast into the sideframes. This car was donated by Exxon (formerly Humble, formerly Esso, formerly Standard Oil Corporation) and refurbished by Union Tank Car Co. in April 1992. #31589 is painted black and has white markings. |
