The Museum is open seven days a week from March to December. During January and February we will be closed Monday. The Museum is closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and during the local Mardi Gras weekend. Please call for Mardi Gras times. Admission pricesAdults - $6.00 Children age 4 - 12 - $3.00 Senior Citizens (60 and older) - $5.00 The Museum opens at 10:00 a.m. and the ticket booth closes at 4:00 p.m.
All prices on programs and admissions are subject to change without notice. It is strongly suggested you call the Museum prior to your visit, many times special events will occur or other occurrences beyond our control may change the Museum's posted schedule and also for additional information and to clarify program pricing. American Express, Visa and Master card are accepted. Reduced rates are available for group tours, schools and day care groups. The Railroad Museum also is a popular setting for convention activities, receptions and special events. Call for pricing and availability.
With the exception of special events, parking at the Museum is free. |
We are located near The Strand at 25th Street and Santa Fe Place on Galveston Island, Texas. When visting Galveston Island from the mainland, take I45 and continue when it becomes Broadway Avenue. Turn left on 26th street. The museum is at the end of 26th street and Santa Fe Pl. Turn left. The museum Free parking is on your right The Railroad Museum is easy to find. Its white Art Deco 10 story office tower is visible throughout the Island, near the Port of Galveston in the Strand Historical District. There is free parking for all Museum visitors.
